We are so excited for you and your child to enjoy our kindness kit! To continue the fun, we have compiled suggestions for a Kindness Play Invitation in your home. Play Invitations encourage your child to initiate their own play. We like to set ours up on our cube shelf, accessible and at eye level. Similar to a toy rotation, the activities/toys on our Play Invitation shelf change with each themed kit.

Kindness Play Links and Descriptions

Dollhouse and Dolls - pretend play with dolls helps foster empathy, social skills, responsibility, and communication skills. Alternative - dollhouse furniture and dolls set up on the top of the shelf. As a family through adoption, we love showing our kids through play that all families look and are made differently!

Superhero/Community Helper Dress Up - Dress up helps improve motor skills, problem solving, and imagination.

Kindness Art Station - Benefits of art for your child include fine motor control and cognitive, and pre-writing skills. Set out paper, envelopes, stickers, and coloring materials. Encourage your child to make art for others or art that reminds them of kindness!

Friends and Neighbors The Helping Game - cooperative games teach cooperation, empathy, and teamwork skills!

Cleaning Pretend Play Kit - pretend play helps foster problem solving and fine and gross motor skills.

Stuffed Animal Reading with Kindness Books - see our Kindness Kit Book Recommendations blog for book ideas. Set up a bucket with your child's favorite stuffed animals (or new ones!) and books. Tell your child the animals are so excited to be read to1 This activity helps reading confidence, early reading skills, and imagination. Try not to correct your child as they read to the stuffed animals. This activity is all about them being the reader and leader, whatever that may look like.
